Superbad

Superbad The DVD Review By Kenneth Holm Dorkgasm Senior Staff Writer
About Mid-August of 2007, a little movie was unleashed upon an unsuspecting populace. Written by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, Superbad was one of my favorite movies of the year.

The Wickeds

The Wickeds A DVD Review By Kenneth Holm Dorkgasm Senior Staff Writer
Ah, The Wickeds. I was first turned onto this 2005 schlockfest by one of the actresses. I met Anna Bridgforth at 2007’s It Came From Lake Michigan film festival. She did not have any films screening at the fest, save the short film “Muckumentary”. We talked a bit, and she later clued me in to this flick. I popped it on my NetFlix queue and waited patiently. When it arrived, I threw it into the DVD player and braced myself for whatever would come.

Kottentail DVD

“Kottentail” A film by Tony Urban Review by Kenneth Holm Dorkgasm Senior Staff Writer
You know, there comes a time in one’s life when you have to think really hard about some things. With the glut of holiday-themed horror movies that come out seemingly every year, what is a filmmaker to do? How can you make yourself different? With Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Halloween, and even April Fools’ Day well documented on celluloid, how can you stand out? The answer is simple. You make a monster movie about a killer Easter bunny. No lie.

Vampire Woman

Curse Of The Vampire Woman A DVD review by Kenneth Holm Dorkgasm Senior Staff Writer
Recently, I viewed Ralph Piro’s Curse Of The Vampire Woman. This DVD was shot in my hometown of Kenosha, Wisconsin, so I decided to try it out. The movie is available at my local Kenosha Public Library, and it is also available to purchase directly from Mr. Piro at his website Piro Productions.

Dangermouse: The Complete Series

Dangermouse: The Complete Series By Kenneth Holm, Dorkgasm Senior Staff Writer
London. In the dense fog, the world’s greatest secret agent and his trustworthy sidekick are happily making their home in a London pillar-box. That’s right, boys and girls; I’m talking about Dangermouse.

Hot Fuzz

Oh, Yeah?! Well, Fuzz you, too. By Kenneth Holm Dorkgasm Senior Staff Writer
WARNING: This review contains spoilers

In 2004, Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg unleashed Shaun of the Dead on an unsuspecting populace. It took everything we dorks cherish about our zombies and rolled it into a fun, little package. It was the horror flick your wife or girlfriend would watch, and the chick flick you would watch without complaining. I think I can safely say that without seeing that movie, I would probably never had seen Hot Fuzz

Serenity: Collector's Edition DVD

"They're not going to see this coming." – Captain Malcolm Reynolds (Nathan Fillion) By Kenneth Holm
When I first heard that the Serenity: Collector's Edition was coming out, I flashed back to the above line. I, like many, assumed that Universal had done their part in releasing it to DVD and HD-DVD. Over, done, and finished. I knew that Firefly and Serenity had a rabid following, and given the feature-packed original DVD release, I thought they (and I) would be sated. Boy was I ever wrong.
