***PUNCH***

this actually gave me hope...now i just want to punch someone upside the neck about it.

man, thats nothing

Anybody remember Mushroom Kingdom Hearts? Lego Halo?
This year gamespot's entire front end was an april fool's gag. Now, let's see how many jackasses are gonna be freaking out about all of that mess and this trailer at your local gamestop....
Awww, crap.

NOT A HOAX!!!!!

how much research did you do on this before you named it nothing more then a hoax? when i watched the trailer i had my suspicions. no production company would spend so much time and effort creating the costumes and makeup that the people in the trailer have just for an april fool's joke. we all have better things to do. so i started looking around. just a quick google search popped up several links(i know bad bad pun) that direct you to reviews and anticipation sites. i also was directed to the Official Site for Legend of Zelda the Hero of Time. This is not a joke or a prank but a real live action movie.

Legen of Zelda the hero of Time is a live action film being produces by a very small productio company named BMB Finishes. They are based out of Atlanta and have been working on the film for several years now. it was originally set to release in fall 2006 ( which is why the youtube video says 'coming this fall') but when the production team found that their none profit movie would take a little longer to add special effects to with out any funds, they canceled the release date and it is now april 1st 2009. the film is being directed by Joel Musch, starring David Blane( not the magician) as Link, Hanna Fierman as Zelda, and Adam Boer as Ganon. the director and producer began ilming 3 years ago hoping to create a fun film to make fans laugh. tey hope to inspire other wriers and directors who so often talk about filming and never do. they had no budget and simply wrote a screenplay. planned some free time in each week to film and started filming. it is possible. The script is loosely based on the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time game. so have no fear my fellow dorks, it is not a hoax.

still want info? check out these links:

These are NOT the same...

Though it looks like some elements were lifted from the fan film, IGN's doesn't seem to use the same performers...

Thoughts?

they're two entirely different projects.

The IGN trailer was their April fool's joke. So far the only person IGN seemed to make a fool of was Cheryl.
Besides, both of these look like total crap, and anyone who would get excited about some butt stain and his buddies making a super eight film wearing tights on a golf course without rights from Nintendo, needs to have their head checked.
I'm pretty sure Miyamoto and company learned not to whore themselves out after the legendary crap that was the Zelda animated series, Super Mario Bros. Supershow and the awful Bob Hoskins vehicle Super Mario Brothers.
Now if only they could apply those stringent standards on the crap they put the nintendo seal of approval on...

Ah!! More Sacrilege!

Why does everyone have to hate on the Super Mario Brothers movie? Was I seriously the only person in the US to like it? Bob Hoskins was Mario, man. It was great. You know, except for everything else. Besides, the Goomba action figures were awesome!

There might be others...

Frankly, I think a fan film or two can be a good thing, and Zelda is no exception. Troops, Grayson, and Batman: Dead End are all great examples...

And besides, unless you're looking for a bootlegged DVD, the film will likely be online and free. Free is always god in my book.

And yes, Ken, you may well be the only one who appreciated Leguizamo's Luigi or Hopper's Koopa... Sorry man.
