It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Roy Scheider. He passed Sunday at the age of 75 in Little Rock, Arkansas from... Well, shit, they haven't said yet!
In any case, I guarantee you've all seen his work in 2010, The Punisher, or, at the very least, Jaws. He was a great performer and gave us many memorable performances throughout the years. He will be missed.
With the Oscars coming up, we should also remember that he was nominated twice. First in 1971 for The French Connection, then again in 1979 for All That Jazz. He deserved them both. Let's face it, the next time some shit hits the fan and your buddy cracks "We're gonna need a bigger boat!" it's going to be just a little less funny.
Our thoughts go out to the Scheider family. May you find peace and may Roy finally find that bigger boat.
