Many of you who are familiar with Death Walks The Streets probably know this already, but we here at Dorkgasm wanted to wait to post something until we had a clearer look at the whole picture. Boy, did we find a muddy picture, though. While it has been stated in several places, let me share with you the official posting from the Baby Galigo website:
After years of work to bring Death Walks The Streets to the screen James Zahn and Matthew S Harrison have decided to move in opposite directions.
Looking forward into 2008, James has taken on some producing and acting roles and Matt is busy building the new Baby Galigo Studios property in Denver, along with producing three high budget films.
The parting of ways is amicable and neither of them are ruling out working together in the future-but for now both are working on their own projects.
Kind of a kick to the balls, right? Fans have been awaiting this movie for a good period of time then BOOM!! Something like this happens that threatens to derail the whole project. Or does it...?
Director James Zahn has officially gone on record as saying that the project will keep moving forward. This occurance will not derail the Death Walks... train at all. A note of interest, though. If you want to check out this past entry in the Dorkgasm archive, you will see a comment posted by none other than former producer Matthew S. Harrison saying that the movie was still going forward as of November 21st.

"Jimmy and I don't see eye to eye-haven't for a long time. So I decided and he decided that making DWTS together wouldn't be good for the franchise. I don't believe in it-don't like horror, or mega violence-and couldn't keep my brain around making movies that went against my moral standards.
So, there you have it-As he was never an employee or principal in my film company, and so it was an easy split. ". Read it here
Apparently, this has been going on for longer than the post would indicate that it has been.
The most important thing, though, is the fact that the project (or multiple projects that are involved) will be moving forward. in a phone call made today, James Zahn asked that I make it ultimately clear that the movie and associated things will go on as planned. He wants fans to rest assured that nothing is being disrupted and the project is still working. None of the parties involved are badmouthing each other, so this will hopefully go no farther than what has been announced.
Stay tuned to Dorkgasm for more information as it develops, though. While Baby Galigo may be out of the picture, the armies of Abaddon are far from dead...

Please Note Also...
In a blog dated December 18th, 2007, Matthew Harrison said that Death Walks The Streets was going to be shooting sometime after Christmas. So, it can be inferred that between the dates of 12/18/07 and 12/30/07 (a scant twelve days) that something went completely awry. While I won't badmouth anyone, it would seem that Mr. Harrison's moral standards held a fair amount of importance if they began to interfere with the producing of the film.
Interesting, no?
