A French horror film, I can't say that I've seen many. I suppose Irreversible might count as horror though, 15 minutes of anal rape would disturb anyone. Well, almost anyone.

French horror!

Another good Frenchie flick is Ils, or THEM, as it's been titled for international release. It seems to be the basis of the upcoming Liv Tyler - Scott Speedman flick The Strangers. Home invasion flicks are supremely spooky to me, as that's one thing you think is cool, but if it's invaded, you lose all hope of security.

I definitely agree. That was

I definitely agree. That was the reason Ju-on bothered me as much as it did. Creepy dark-haired girl gets the sister, I think it's the sister anyways, in her bed. That image has always stuck with me.

"A gunslinger shoots with his heart, and kills with his mind."

Totally the sister, bro.

Yeah, Ju-On always gets to me. It was my intro to J-Horror, and still remains a favorite to this day. Sure, they kinda fucked it up with the American version, but I remain one of the only people I know who thinks The Grudge still has its merits, and should be viewed as a companion piece to Ju-On, not a remake. Besides, Pullman alone makes it worth watching. The Grudge 2, though, should be forgotten. Ju-On 2 was good, too. If you haven't seen it, I could arrange it. The TV movies that inspired it are also good. Have those, too. That series, next to Creepshow, is my other completist hobby. Have to have every version ever.

I have Ju-on 2 and yes it

I have Ju-on 2 and yes it was creepy. Especially the scene with the two college kids who keep hearing the thumping on their walls. Unfortunately my copy only has Chinese subtitles, but somehow I think not understanding what was being said actually made the movie creepier.

"A gunslinger shoots with his heart, and kills with his mind."

Oh! I almost forgot, if you

Oh! I almost forgot, if you haven't seen Uzumaki, you NEED to see that film. It's a Lovecraftian J-horror flic.

"A gunslinger shoots with his heart, and kills with his mind."

Uzumaki?

I thought I was one of the only people in America to see that one. It was truly a good flick. I heard it was based on a Japanese graphic novel. I would love to get a copy of this. If you need Ju-On 2, I can get a hold of an extra copy with english subs.

Manga

The Manga for Uzumaki is available in the United States. You may need to order it from a bookseller due to the mature themes (they think that shit is only meant for kids), but it's out there!

Sweet...

I'll have to jump on that. You know, it's funny how this started out as a post about French horror films and wound its way to manga. Viva la Dorkgasm!!
