Robert Jordan | Obituary

This is getting front page importance. Robert Jordan, author of the "Wheel Of Time" series, died Sunday, September 16th. He was 58.

Jordan, perhaps best known best known for his books detailing the struggles of Rand al'Thor, was born James Oliver Rigney, Jr. He graduated from The Citadel, South Carolina's state military college, and went on to work as a nuclear engineer. In 1980, he published a trilogy of historical novels under the name of Reagan O'Neal. 1990 brought the first book in the "Wheel Of Time" series, The Eye Of The World.

Mr. Jordan died as a result of of complications from primary amyloidosis with cardiomyopathy, a very rare blood disease. It caused the walls of his heart to harden. He passed on at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. He lived most of his life in this city, and was surrounded by loved ones.

Now I need to go hide in a corner and cry, or rock madly to and fro. Something... anything to hide my pain and possibly never knowing how the Wheel of Time will end.
