It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Roy Scheider. He passed Sunday at the age of 75 in Little Rock, Arkansas from... Well, shit, they haven't said yet!

Back in May of 2005, Ridley Scott unleashed the movie Kingdom Of Heaven. The story involved a Crusader who has been tasked to defend Jerusalem from the onslaught of the Muslim army during a time period between the Second and Third Crusades. Like several people I know, I found the movie to be a fairly good flick. However, it did seem to be rather disjointed in parts and lacked what I thought to be a good emotional center. Then, in May of 2006, Ridley Scott threw Kingdom Of Heaven: The Director’s Cut onto DVD, and it seemed like everything changed for the better

I stated that I thought this movie was better than Goblet Of Fire when it came out, and I stand by my original thoughts on the movie. Hell, I even wrote a review when it originally came out. However, if you will read this review, it will only enhance your enjoyment of this DVD review.

When I ponied up my seven bucks to see me some monster hack-n-slash, I expected carnage. I guess I didn't know enough about Drew Goddard to also expect feelings. See, when good old Mr. Jones goes to see a monster destroy a city, there is a part of me that wants to see the monster die. Not enough to kill off any sequel ideas, mind you, just enough to give some definite closure to the movie. The problem with Cloverfield is that you never see the monster die. In fact, you barely see anything at all.
